On November 1, 2016, a meeting took place between the Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science Lilia Grinevich and a group of leaders of Ukrainian national minority organizations. The discussion centered around potential amendments to the Ukrainian “On Education” Law, particularly where it concerns the right to receive education in languages spoken by national minorities.

On October 23, the Chairman of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council Josef Zissels read a lecture titled “Civilizational Identity and Value Systems” at the Teacher’s House in Kyiv, Ukraine, for participants of the Young Politician School.

A solemn commemoration ceremony took place near “The Pit”, a monument to Holocaust victims in Minsk. The ceremony was dedicated to the 73 anniversary of the destruction of the Minsk ghetto. Former prisoners of the Minsk ghetto, Righteous Gentiles, representatives of public and religious organizations, and journalists were all present at the ceremony.

Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Deputy Secretary General Haim Ben Yakov, the EAJC representative in Israel, read a lecture titled “Who is the Jew in the Modern World?”

The V International Forum of Jewish Youth “I'm a Leader!” took place in Kazakhstan with the support of the Mitzvah Association and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. Participants hailed from seven cities: Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Semey, Aktobe, Pavlodar, and Uralsk.
