| EAJC grieves for victims of Tu-154 crash |

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress received the news of the deaths of people on board the Tu-154 airplane which crashed over the Black Sea with great sadness.
EAJC workers and leaders would like to present their deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the dead passengers and crew members. In these bitter hours, our thoughts are with you.

On November 10, the Political/Economic Officer of the Almaty Consulate General Timothy O’Connor visited the Mitzvah Association office. Mr. O’Connor met with the leader of the Jewish community of Kazakhstan, member of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan and the Presidium of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Alexander Baron. |

| EAJC GC Chairman participates in second Crimean Forum |

On November 10-11, 2016, the Crimean Forum, an event dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, took place in Lviv. The Ukrainian Helsinki Group fought for human rights in the Soviet Union despite being threatened with imprisonment, forced psychiatric treatment, concentration camps, and death. |

| EAJC GC Chairman Josef Zissels meets with Ukrainian President as part of Helsinki Group |

On November 9, members and founders of the famous Ukrainian Helsinki Group met with the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. The meeting was held in honor of the 40th anniversary of this human rights group, which was founded as the “Ukrainian Public Group to Promote the Implementation of the Helsinki Accords on Human Rights” and fought for human rights in the Soviet Union despite being threatened with imprisonment, forced psychiatric treatment, concentration camps, and death. |
