			On December 12, 2012, the National Library of the Georgian Parliament  hosted the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the celebration of  Chanukah. The exhibition was organized by the curator of the exhibitions  of the National Museum of Georgia, leader of the Euro-Asian Jewish  Congress (EAJC) project “Describing Georgian Judaica” Lela  Tsitsuashvili.  |

			It is with a great sadness and a feeling of deep loss that the EAJC has  learned of the passing of an outstanding Georgian poet and interpeter, a  scholar and a public community figure, a member of the EAJC General  Council Jemal (Shimon) Adjiashvili, who has passed away on January 5,  2013. Among those  who also took part in the tour were representatives of the Russian  Jewish Congress, of the “Moscow–Tel-Aviv” journal, and the Buknik  Internet media project. 			| Jews of Almaty Hold “Chanukah in the Shtetl” Program |

			A training camp titled “Chanukah in the Shtetl” brought together young  families from the Jewish community of Almaty for a program that laster  for days, from December 14 to 18. This unique event, incorporating a  roleplaying game, seminars by the Shoresh Project, and psychological and  educational workshops, gathered 86 people – parents with their children  and youth alike. The youth also took an active part in developing and  holding the camp, the focus of which was a method of immersing the  attendees into a shtetl's life.  |
